What is the best way to choose home lighting?
When making your selection, consider the size and style of the room, as well as the function of the space and the ceiling height. Let the expert designers in our dazzling lighting showroom take the guesswork out of choosing the correct diameter of a light fixture for any space.
What do I need to consider when choosing bathroom lighting?
Create a cohesive look with similar finishes across the vanity, tub area, and shower. Side- mounted sconces provide even, shadow-free lighting for shaving, grooming, and applying makeup, while a ceiling light is best for brightening the whole room. Powder or guest bathrooms don’t need as much task lighting, so choose ambient lighting instead. LED mirrors are a great option for bathrooms, especially those with limited electrical options.
What is the best bedroom lighting?
We recommend selecting a dimmable ceiling fixture and placing table lamps on your nightstands to create a relaxing atmosphere while providing task lighting for reading and other activities.
What type of light fixture is best for a dining room?
Chandeliers add sparkle and style to your dining room, along with strategically placed recessed lights to enhance the aesthetic and functionality of the room. We recommend adding dimming controls to your dining room lighting to enable you to vary the light as needed.
What lighting works best in the kitchen?
Your kitchen lighting should provide both form and function, enabling you to prepare meals safely, while creating a comfortable gathering place for family and friends. Undercabinet fixtures offer both task and accent lighting, while pendants provide both task and general lighting.
How do I determine the best lighting for my living room?
We recommend choosing living room or family room lighting that fits your lifestyle. Ceiling lights work well for general purposes, add task lighting for reading, and accent lighting for artwork, plants, and interesting architectural features. Dimming controls are ideal because they allow you to adjust the light to suit each activity.
What are the benefits of outdoor lighting?
Exterior lights are a great way to add curb appeal and enhance the beauty of your home, increase safety and security, and improve the time you spend in your outdoor spaces.
How do I select exterior lighting?
The location of the light fixture should guide your choice. Wall lights are well suited to porches, patios, entryways, and garages. Hanging lights are best for porches and covered patios. Post lights are used for walkways, driveways, and patios. Motion-activated security lights are perfect for walkways, alleys, and garages. Landscape lights are used in gardens and on landscape features.
How do I choose the right indoor ceiling fan?
Consider the size of the room and the ceiling height, whether it’s a flat or sloped ceiling, and the style of the space, as well as how you want to control the fan. Our ceiling fan experts will happily help you take the guesswork out of choosing your perfect ceiling fan.
